Beaulieu was founded in Belguim, and came to America in 1978 as the first maker of oriental rugs that were made of polypropylene. More facilities to produce were built in 1987, giving them the opportunity to make the more sustainable nylon and polymer fibers for carpeting. Beaulieu is now the third largest producers of carpeting in the world today.
